  I had purchased an Avanti bike from another retailer in Hervey Bay and was disappointed in the servicing and knowing the bike was just becoming a "dog", very disappointing. I called into Biketech and the bike tech picked the problem immediately they quoted $48.00 to do a "reset", money well spent. The Avanti now is an excellent bike, how can one tech be so good whereas another one just didn't care.

  Giant based on my research appears "NOT" to keep a good backup of stock on-hand of identical serviceable parts here in Australia for all their range of imported bikes & offers you something else in place of the original failed-part hoping that you accept & go away.

  Giant - Not such a Giant ! - Before you buy a "Giant" Bike ask the dealer if an item or part on the proposed "NEW" bike has an issue in the near-future during the warranty-period, that the same "original" part subject to the warranty-claim can be "identically" supplied & fitted back to your pride & joy that you purchased in a timely manner.

  Remember the brand NEW bike in the showroom that you purchase will one-day need service, maintenance & "replacement" parts & if Giant cannot supply those same parts, then find a brand that can !

  If I buy a NEW bike from an Australian retail dealer, then you expect to get full-warranty & you expect that the part that failed is supplied back to me "the-customer" quickly & identically to what failed - for eg ; two different types / styles of wheels on the "same" bike, that is less than 6 months old in my opinion does not pass the warranty test & simply not acceptable.

  The staff are experienced and avid riders and willing to share their knowledge with you. Richard and staff are very friendly and tell you the difference between each product.
